    The band was part of the blues scene in the London borough of Richmond, home of the Crawdaddy Club.

    The band name comes from a 1930 song by Bukka White.

    At first, they played blues-oriented music in the style of a jug band; this can be heard on their first album, Panama Limited Jug Band, from 1969.
