About the artist and the album:
Darryl Way's Wolf was a prominent British progressive rock and jazz-rock band formed in 1972 by virtuoso violinist Darryl Way after his departure from Curved Air.
The project arose from the desire to explore a technical blend of rock, classical music, and jazz fusion, centered on Way's electric violin and keyboards. Although the band was only active until the end of 1974, it is remembered as a breeding ground for talent that would later form part of iconic bands of the genre such as Marillion (Ian Mosley), Soft Machine (John Etheridge) and Caravan (Dek Messecar).
Night Music is is third and final studio album released in June 1974, produced by Shaun Davies. Night Music is noted for featuring a more prominent vocal presence than the band's previous instrumental-heavy releases, primarily through vocalist John Hodkinson.
In September 2025, a complete 3-CD anthology titled "Cadenza: The Complete Recordings" was released through Cherry Red Records, featuring all three remastered albums and previously unreleased BBC session material.
