About the artist and the album:

Originally from Burnley, Lancashire, Les Walker built his career in the late 1960s London music scene. Before and during his solo work, he collaborated with several notable musicians, including Paul Carrack (Ace, Squeeze, Mike + The Mechanics), Chas N Dave, Albert Lee and guitarist Big Jim Sullivan.

Whatever Mood You're In is the debut solo album and title single by British vocalist Les Walker, originally released in 1974. The music is primarily classified as Roots Rock or Pub Rock with blues and fusion influences.

The album was first issued on vinyl in 1974 by Retreat Records. A 7" vinyl single of the title track was released slightly earlier, in 1973. The album has been reissued several times, including a 1992 release titled The Derek Lawrence Sessions – Take 3 and a more recent CD release by the label Gonzo in 2017.
